If we have nothing but olive oil and bread, we will survive. That's a common statement of lore across the Mediterranean. You'd be hard pressed, no pun intended, to find a food that evokes as many emotions as olive oil. Or serves as many purposes--from anointing Jesus, to lighting the industrial revolution, to making Sophia Loren still look gorgeous in her 80s. Not to mention it makes everything, including a simple piece of bread, deliciously worth eating. We've filmed in Greece, Spain, Italy and France. Still have Tunisia to go, but we're already in the process of editing. It's a story born of love for our families and lands. So many people have worked on it tirelessly just because the olive oil isat their roots--no fees, no paychecks, just maybe a bottle of oil gifted from the many enthusiastic olive growers we met.
